CYCLE 1 OF THE 17 DAY DIET OVERVIEW

BE PREPARED TO EXPERIENCE RAPID WEIGHT LOSS

Many people lose 10-12 pounds of during this Cycle, and some lose even more. Cycle 1 works by cutting out sugars to flush toxins from your body, and incorporating low-impact exercise.
During this first Cycle, you’ll eat nutritious, clean foods, and remove sugars, carbs, starchy vegetables, grains, and high-sugar fruits from your diet — this is part of the reason why this is sometimes called the “detox cycle.” Your diet will be focused on lean protein, like chicken or fish, and cleaning vegetables like leafy greens and carrots. You’ll also eat low-sugar fruits, probiotics like yogurt, and healthy fats.

Foods You'll Eat During Cycle 1

Your meal plan for Cycle 1 will consist of good, healthy, clean foods. During this cycle you’ll load up on unlimited amounts of lean proteins — chicken, turkey, and fish — and cleansing veggies like carrots and broccoli. You’ll also enjoy two servings of low-sugar fruit per day, two probiotics (like no-sugar-added yogurt), and unlimited healthy fats like olive oil.

During Cycle 1, and throughout The 17 Day Diet, hydration is key. That’s why this cycle incorporates hot lemon water in the morning, green tea during meals, and plenty of water throughout the day.

The Benefits of Cycle 1 Of The 17 Day Diet

Cycle 1 is all about detox — eliminating sugar and carbs and flushing unhealthy toxins from your body. This is the primary reason for the rapid weight loss you’ll experience during this cycle. Individual results vary, but losses of 10 to 12 pounds are not uncommon!

Exercise in Cycle 1 of the 17 Day Diet

Exercise is limited during Cycle 1. Physical activity is always important, but you’ll be sticking to low-impact exercise for a short duration each day.

What to Watch For in Cycle 1

During Cycle 1, your body will adjust to the lack of carbs and sugary foods you’re consuming. While you detox and flush toxins from your body, you may experience mild headaches or lightheadedness. Some people experience low energy levels as well.
These effects are normal. Dr. Mike recommends drinking lots of water during Cycle 1, and eating plenty of lean proteins and cleansing vegetables whenever you feel hungry.

WHAT'S NEXT AFTER CYCLE 1 OF THE 17 DAY DIET?

After you’ve completed Cycle 1, if you have more weight to lose, you can either start Cycle 2 immediately, or do the Transitional Fast today, and start Cycle 2 tomorrow.  

If you’ve already reached your goals, you can move straight into Cycle 4!
